Daniel Bottlaender Hotel photographer

Hotel & hospitality photographer — Alsace, France & Europe

Photographs that make people book.

Hotels from two to five stars, spas, hotel restaurants, serviced apartments and holiday rentals. I photograph properties the way guests imagine living in them — so the booking lands with you, and not with the address next door.

What I photograph

Guests do not buy rooms. They buy moments.

A gallery full of empty interiors documents a building. A gallery full of moments sells nights. An open bed, steam rising from a cup, a bar coming to life — that is what your future guests are actually paying for, and that is what I build, frame by frame.

Breakfast

The breakfast that decides the booking

Warm bread, fresh fruit, window light. Breakfast is one of the most persuasive images in any hotel listing, and one of the most consistently wasted. I shoot it as a moment worth waking up for, never as a buffet to be inspected.

Rooms

Rooms a guest can already picture themselves in

A room sells when the traveller can see themselves in it: a tray set down on the bed, curtains drawn back, textures that breathe. Every shoot is built for the places your rooms actually compete — Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb, your own booking engine — hero image included.

The pause

Spa & wellness: selling a sensation

Nobody books a spa for its tiling. They book a candle flickering, water still and warm, an hour that belongs to no one else. Those images sell whole stays rather than day passes — and they lift your average daily rate more reliably than any banner offer.

Atmosphere

When atmosphere becomes the argument

After dark your property tells a different story: a bar lighting up, cocktails set down, a façade turning gold. These are the frames that separate a night booked with you from a night booked across the street — and the ones that give your social channels something to live on all year.

Why professional photography pays

These are not photographs. This is occupancy.

Every image in your gallery is a salesperson working around the clock, on every OTA, on Google, on your own site. Weak photography does not simply look bad — it quietly discounts your rate, because a traveller who cannot see the value will only pay for the price.

+63%

more bookings for properties with high-quality photography.

Expedia study

+83%

more views on Booking.com for listings carrying more than 20 photos.

Booking.com

80%

of travellers rank photography as their first selection criterion, ahead of price.

Industry OTA studies

Better images raise your click-through rate on the OTAs, which raises your ranking, which raises your visibility. They also make the case for booking direct, where you keep the commission instead of handing it over. That is the whole argument, and it is a revenue argument before it is an aesthetic one.

The signature

Styling and staging, with Oh! ma déco

I work regularly with interior designer Estelle Sylla-Busch of Oh! ma déco. Before a single frame is taken, we dress the spaces: breakfast laid, cocktails poured, fabrics and objects placed, light shaped. The traveller stops looking at a room and starts seeing an evening.

This is French art de vivre applied to a commercial problem. It is also the difference between a shoot that decorates your website and a shoot that sells your nights.

Two commitments

Your images in under a week, and no cap on the count

A listing waiting three weeks for its photographs is a listing losing three weeks of bookings. I deliver in under a week, guaranteed. And there is no package of fifteen images: you receive an unlimited number, tailored to the project, so your property can exist everywhere at once — OTAs, website, social, press, print.

The shoot itself is short and deliberately undisruptive. One day covers a full hotel, starting in the morning. Half a day covers a rental, styling included. Add more than a day when we are styling a whole hotel. Rooms are photographed between check-out and check-in, the restaurant before service, the spa away from peak hours. Nothing closes.

Based in Alsace, working across Europe

A short train ride from most of your markets

Alsace sits on the German and Swiss border, which turns out to be an unusually good address for a hospitality photographer. Basel is next door. Zurich, Luxembourg, Frankfurt, Brussels and Paris are all a straightforward journey by train or road, and Geneva and Munich are comfortably within reach. For a group with properties in several countries, that means one photographer, one visual language, and travel costs that stay sensible.

I work in French and in English, with hotel directors, revenue and marketing teams, asset managers and owners. Travel is written into the quotation from the outset — no line items appearing later.

What clients say

Five stars, and not only on the hotels

Reviews from Google, in French — my clients are mostly French-speaking, so they are reproduced in their own words rather than translated.
