About
I photograph the places people want to be
My name is Daniel Bottlaender. I am a hotel and hospitality photographer based in Alsace, France, working for properties from two to five stars, spa hotels, serviced apartments and high-end holiday rentals — across France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium and Germany.
Daniel Bottlaender
One speciality
I do not shoot weddings, products or corporate portraits. Only guest accommodation and the world around it: rooms, tables, spas, atmospheres. That focus was built assignment by assignment — hotels mid-refurbishment, properties moving up a segment, hospitality events, rentals aiming for the top of their market. It has left me with one plain conviction: a good accommodation photograph does not show a place, it creates an appetite for a moment.
In practice, a shoot runs over one day at your property, starting in the morning. One day is enough because I know what I am looking for: the detail that makes a room desirable, the angle that gives a space its real proportions, the table that suggests a stay rather than a service. A rental usually takes half a day, styling included. Styling a whole hotel takes more than a day, and we plan that programme together.
Styling, with Oh! ma déco
I work regularly with interior designer Estelle Sylla-Busch of Oh! ma déco. Together we dress the spaces before anything is shot: breakfast laid, cocktails poured, textures, objects, light. This is the part guests recognise as French art de vivre, and it is what turns a room into a scene and a browser into a booking.
The shoot, and what happens after it
I arrive with full professional equipment and work quietly around your operation — rooms between check-out and check-in, the restaurant before service, the spa away from peak hours. Nothing closes and nobody is asked to rearrange their day around me.
Then every image is worked individually: light, materials, verticals, consistency across the series. No batch treatment, no set of images that looks like a preset. The result is faithful to your property, seen at the best moment of its season. That expert post-production is also why one day on site is enough where others ask for three.
Two simple commitments
Your photographs in under a week. Guaranteed. A listing waiting three weeks for its images is a listing losing three weeks of bookings.
An unlimited number of images, tailored to the project. I do not sell packages of fifteen photographs. You receive what your property needs in order to exist everywhere — website, OTAs, social channels, press and print.
A convenient address
Alsace sits on the German and Swiss border, which makes it a practical base for hospitality work across Europe. Basel is next door; Zurich, Luxembourg, Frankfurt, Brussels and Paris are all a short train ride away. For a group with properties in several countries, that means one photographer, one visual language, and travel costs that stay proportionate. I work in French and in English, with owners, hotel directors, revenue and marketing teams.

What clients say
Reviews from Google, in French. My clients are mostly French-speaking, so their words are reproduced exactly as they wrote them rather than translated — a translated quotation is no longer really a quotation.
